Each interview will be engaging in its own right, as we will be telling the business leader story… stories of set backs, triumphs, business, family life or just everyday stuff made of ordinary people that are doing extra-ordinary stuff.
One of the things I am most happy about is that we will attempt to produce as many new 30-45 minute shows each month. So for you, this means a new ListenUpShow podcast and MitchellChadrow.com will be there for you almost every week, you can take these talks with you on your daily personal or business commutes, trips to the office or doing your family errands to the store, your daily walk or fun activity, for your dose of positive motivation and encouragement.
Our talks will have an agenda for those who appreciate a built in format component to each show so you know what to expect but the agenda has enough flexibility built into the show to add something new and exciting to explore all things business family and life.
Well I hope this has made you curious? So, let's go, I am going to jump right in here with all the goodies of the various talks and how these stories will move and also tell you a little bit about the shows MC…that's me, Mitchell Chadrow.
Each show will start with a brief introduction of our guest business leader and they will add in some of their personal and business gaps.
When we hear their business or family or life leadership story we will see how they are doing it and also explore the
why they are doing it and the effects it has on the quality of their everyday life and mind set.
We then Move right in to the details of their story. Our story's here at MitchellChadrow.com can focus on both failures and success as we can learn so much from…both maybe even more from their failures. Our business leader will go into depth regarding those ups and downs in business or family or in life that they have experienced. Going step by step through the details which brought them to those moments and most importantly what specific actionable and executable things they did they do upon encountering these circumstances that lifted the business leader to overcome adversity and the actions that were taken to overcome the set back and rise above it and move forward.
Now, we’ve all heard about having a life changing moment - an epiphany : when Angels speak to you, you have a reawakening , and the stars sun and moon all aline in your direction. Well, most business leaders that have created their own success and luck have had these types of experiences… and all of these business leaders have as well.
Our leaders story's take us through those epiphany's the clarity of life: the steps they took to get them to that point, the 'how' or the executed steps taken by our business leader through their courage to break through to this important life moment that helped lead them to the success they are experiencing today.
Then, we move with great precision and detail into our business leaders current business. They will go into detail about their day to day, and then also touch upon their vision for the future. This will help us not only understand what it is that they do, but it will also help us understand where they feel their particular industry is headed.
With no particular order throughout the interview, we will enter a fun round where the questions seem to be a popouri of unrelated topics that have no related significance, but listen up, because, this maybe one of my favorite and most revealing of all question segments for you and your family… Whats on your mind, Whats on your mind - is a part of the interview portion or part of our talk that delved down deep to analyze how the business leader thinks in their business, family bad life we can pull iut not only important information or knowledge but listen up as they provide pearls of wisdom valuable for you our trusted friends that you can use everyday in your own business family and life.
Some questions may include:
Describe the one main constraint or perceived impediment that was not allowing you to say I can now do this, go for it as a true leader?
What is the best business advice you ever received?
What is something that is working for you right now?
What is the best business book you have read in the last six months?
Whats on your mind.
Tells us about your mantra, quote or hero.
It will really tell us the true mind set of our leader.
As leaders or business people we might think a lot is in our power or control but regardless of our focus the fact remains that our thoughts are not far from thinking about the time and resources necessary to running a successful business. We routinely come up with several ideas just to see some of these brilliant thoughts go un-executed or attempted .
Have you ever had that soul searching moment at which point you’re looking for that brilliant concept or product or service or business, wanting to immediately start making the meaningful executable steps come alive.
Our business leader’s wisdom or insight might just be the catalyst for you to finally take that action you always knew you needed to do so that you could break through and move in the direction of
your next new new concept, product, service or business. I gave you a cursory look into the Podcast Show, Now it's time to bring you into my story - why create Listen Up and MitchellChadrow.com. For over 25 years I have consumed talk radio and for the last two years listening to more and more podcasts. Like most of you, I find myself traveling for numerous hours on the train or car or considerable down time on planes. I enjoy my music like the next person, but for someone who really loves talking I need more, I want more, and with this technology it makes podcasts the ultimate business for me and my natural talkative, curious self.
A Podcast allows both for my passions to come together: a means of communication, connecting to others sharing and helping others through my voice. It's just you my trusted friends there is nothing to interrupt us - like stay tuned commercial breaks and - oh yes - you know it - the best things in life that's right - podcasts are free!
I have read so many business and motivational books, listened to so much news and political radio shows, radio entertainment shows to consumer finance programs but I wanted to have something of my own and getting involved with podcasts seemed a great solution over attempting to break in to yet another new industry like radio so with the great business idea of podcasts - I was hooked. I have always enjoyed listening and reading about successful community family and business leaders. How they think what makes them tick what has worked for them what hasn't where do they come from what is their background family - I guess it is being a people person finding out about others lives whether it's a wealthy client or family or top Executive or business owner or leader. These individuals were helpful down to earth approachable so I knew that I could approach guests of the podcast show in the same fashion. Finding out about their life's experiences, both family and business, I knew I couldn't wait any longer I needed to execute and Now not Later - I needed to refocus my life's ambitions and goals for me and my family and my legacy and my God given passions to also help others so they can obtain meaningful business family and life path.
You had all different kinds of podcasts but none that were the way I wanted to do it - some had bits and pieces but didn't go far enough, some were constantly selling stuff and you didn't know whether they cared more about there pocket or really helping, maybe some both but it certainly made me question how genuine some were or whether the reason they disclosed so much was merely to give a false sense of security that they really cared about their listens or merely selling more products and services.
I immediately saw the need for a podcast that was genuine true and helpful but also cared about their listeners.
This would help provide a solution for those people who wanted good trusted advice and help with no strings attached. Thus, it would provide a much needed authentic dose of positive motivation for me and you my trusted audience who just were looking for the same thing each week on their way to work or daily walk or commuting in the car doing your family errands.
It also boasted my energy and happiness to listen to others stories a long the way and know it was possible to also achieve and be.
I was more interested in the nuts and bolts the details as to how they got from point A to Point B whereas some merely scratched the surface with asking only what.
So it was all of these reasons combined that finally motivated me to Begin Listen Up and MitchellChadrow.com which has now come alive thankfully because you my trusted friends who are now listening up
it was from that intention I decided to put together Listen Up and the Site that would allow people all over to provide the ability to consume this wisdom on their own time, the way they prefer with insightful and inspiring stories, education and life's lessons, and ideas. My goal create a place we all can go to share the greatest and awe inspiring concepts where a community of people come together to provide help and advice on all things business family and life. My expectation or main goal is provide this content so it motivates inspires you to finally take action and execute on your ideas your plan, whatever that may be for you and your family, so you apply your own passions and energy to live out and create your true purpose and legacy.
Listen Up, you now know about the podcast and MitchellChadrow.com and the intention behind what finally made me take action and execute, Now - it's time to tell you a little about my story. I’m Mitchell Chadrow, and I was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. At 22, I left Pennsylvania for Law School, in Lansing, Michigan to pursue a life long dream and goal to go to law school. I spent three years studying, 45 weeks out of each year and attended all three summers. Did I mention the cost was over $100,000. I guess my mother was right - they were not just going to hand me my JD and my life long dream and goal didn't come cheap. I was going to have to work hard to graduate and pay the bill.
At 25, I could tell people I completed my most important goal my biggest dream to that point. I also graduated with honors and was on Law Review and it only took me 25 years. -
To add icing to the cake I passed the PA NJ and NY Bar exams all on the first try I took them. I remember the overwhelming joy from achieving this next goal.
Up to this point this goal and dream was so big I always knew I wanted to achieve this but I never gave much thought to what I was going to do after that would top that. Most people would just be an attorney get a job at a law firm and practice for the rest of their life.
Did I mention that I decided to get a Master if Laws in Taxation after law school and took out more loans.
Sometimes the path is not straight forward. It's not linear. Not done in an orderly way . You zig and zag but hopefully you get back on track. I did get a position with a law firm doing work that I enjoyed and representing interesting clients. Represented financial institutions joint venture between and among credit unions small business association of business owners startups people selling their business or growing there business. Did a lot or real estate settlements trusts and estates litigation and estate planning Wills Trusts business formations However, the person I reported to was more challenging to deal with then accomplishing my goal and dream of graduating law school and passing the Bar. I sucked it up and did it for longer then most could have dealt with it. For me that was a major accomplishment but there had to be more then this. Little did I know at that time but I was about to find out.
At 27, I met my girlfriend Beth six months later I was engaged and married at 28.
I switched industry's but basically working with the same type of clients just in a bank setting and not in a law firm. I started January 1997 moving to banking financial services and fiduciary trusts and estates.
In 2000 my Samantha was born my whole world only got better. I had a job I really liked a great boss and one of the most well respected banks by their customers and clients. This was it! My career. I was going to be a lifer. I was going to retire here and get my pension and gold watch after 35 years. But you can only plan so much and there are certainly things out of your control - In 2001 the boss I admired and looked up to abruptly left the bank. I was lost - his replacement was his total opposite so when my old boss called and asked me to join his new firm and for more money I asked so when do I start - Five months later 9/11. The new firm wasn't doing so well and I could see that the firm I just joined was struggling so I left to join a regional bank as VP. That bank was acquired by a National bank within one year. My next role was the most eye opening of all - I joined a Delaware Trust Company as Trust Counsel working with some of the wealthiest clients and families in the US but when the original Trust Counsel recovered from her long term illness - guess what - I was being replaced as Trust Counsel with the former employee - I didn't know it at the time but the did not anticipate that she was going to recover and they brought me in to hedge their bet - at this point in my story my Marissa was born now I had two girls a true double blessing.
After leaving the Delaware Trust Counsel position I got a VP Bank position with another Community bank back in Pennsylvania and closer to home. After five years - you guessed it - time to move on for more money - this time with an International bank working with ultra high net worth clients.
So by this time in my career I had some great jobs, some good jobs, some fair jobs and a few with not so great bosses. Looking back I left a few because of the boss, others to make more money and some totally out of my control.
Fast forward to the worst economy that started in 2007 and rocked the markets in October of 2008. I remember it well I was still working for that international Bank whose CEO was invited to the White House and was asked to take the Tarp money - by the middle of 2009 the bank needed to restructure and as the newest and highly paid employee I was being laid off first - welcome to the New New Economy - it was at this moment it would probably be the most logical place to go full tilt with my own company be my own boss - some would say what did you have to lose - but at this point in my journey I had a family house payments student loans so fear and doubts just crept in. At 41, I felt like I really needed to reassess my options focus on what direction I was going to head the realization I was literally just starting back to start I had clients at the law firm and banks but they weren't my clients they were someone else's clients sure I did a good job - 16 years after my legal graduation. I decided to be a free agent working for banks law firms clients on a contract or project basis . Set hours per day week or month set rate and length for the engagement . My first project I got to work for the largest Bank Family Office in the Nation - travel all over for about a year. Made more money then I did before - took yet another professional job with a major financial institution but as a term certain employee and worked for numerous top plaintiff and defense litigation law firms in PA, NY, DE which has been very enjoyable. Then, my own epiphany moment happened. While starting to listen in 2015 to several podcasts, I thought to myself, "This is just like being on Radio but better I can make this happen. In reality it's using better technology, I can can do this Radio program but with a Podcast twist.” I really started to get excited I didn't know anything about putting together a podcast or website or blog or any of what goes in to making it happen but I knew one thing I was going to take action execute and always stay with it - became my new ultimate goal dream just like when I was 10 and 11 and knew how much I loved the constitution and wanted to go to law school. During these last several months I have listened and read all kinds of stuff and just delved into the material like I did when I was in law school. Learning how to do something like build a website was a major challenge but my passion kept getting bigger as my desire to achieve overwhelmed any fear.
Since passing the bar exam, and for the second time in my life, I knew this is what I was going to do for the rest of my life and I was certain with total conviction I wanted this: create a podcast interviewing radio style but with podcast technology business family and life stories from true leaders in all walks of life from the Chairman of the Board from the largest companies in the Wirld to to the Janitor if a small company.
With focus, precision and clarity I was moving forward in life. I started saying things like - that would be good idea to talk about on the podcast or when something happened I would say to the person I should discuss this on my podcast. I mentioned to some family and friends about going to do a podcast so there was no backing out now I am ALL IN.
You can think about ideas plan, test and re- test and try to learn everything and make sure all is perfect in the world but at some point you are just going to have to do it move take action execute and make changes as you go hoping to get it right more than wrong - maybe gaining information and others knowledge for wisdom that helps propel you . So now is that time.
I know that I will not let myself done or you my trusted friends - I am now prepared to Go Start MitchellChadrow.com and the Listen Up Podcast Show.

I have a few guiding principles to keep myself grounded and focused on the right things. After all, in a changing world and economy, if you don't focus on your core values you might lose your path as find it. These principles keep me on the straight path.
1. The best and worst things in life are usually the things that happen unplanned.
When bad things happen, learn from them and vow to not repeat the behaviors that allowed them to happen. When good things come along, take advantage of them and learn how to stimulate more good things like them to happen. That’s called creating your own luck, which is a far better option than trying to control the uncontrollable.
2. Whether success or failure, I want the satisfaction of knowing my results are my own.
The greatest thrill in business is to experience success that you manufactured yourself. The joy comes from knowing that I did that, me. Taking pride in one’s craft and working hard for one’s own rewards is the opportunity of a lifetime. Failures and missteps will happen along the way. That’s natural. When they occur, get up, learn from them, and move forward.
3. The right path is the one you make yourself that leads to your version of happiness.
We all have different ideas about what happiness is, which is why we shouldn’t all follow the same path. To embrace our unique passions and enjoy our own forms of fulfillment, we must be willing to step off the prescribed path and forge our own. No matter what your goals are, there’s always more than one way to realize them. Find yours.

I always wanted to do Radio for as long as I can remember.  Today Podcast technology enables me to have my own show which will be  helpful to others for learning and teaching about all things business, family and life lessons.   So, through my show, I will reveal all of my experiences from work, career, business, family and everyday life challenges and wins, best practices and how to deal with the ins and outs.
Overcoming adversity to realize one’s potential.  Even if you are laid off sometimes it's a message to possibly turn away from the expected path and build your own brand through perseverance, investment in self, and a devotion to helping others. Along the way, you to will manage to not only achieve financial success but more importantly discover what matters most: passion and purpose.
Dedicated to audience engagement.  Which means I am also engaged too, and not just in one channel but many. To win have no fear and lots of courage, you must make the conscious decision to have multiple revenue streams and be fearless. That’s what it takes to be a success in business and more importantly in life.
Presently, Mitchell enjoys focusing on building his personal relationships, inspiring collaboration on various industry projects and contracts, continuing to grow personally and business in life's journey, and helping others also achieve their goals and dreams a long the way.
